TLK "1 1/2" or "3" - A movie or a mistak

I have posted this poll because there was a lot of indignation expressed here( viewtopic.php?t=334 ) about TLK ("1 1/2" or "3")

Feel free to criticise TLK ("1 1/2" or "3") here.

I think "The Lion King 1/2" isn't part of "The Lion King". It's just stupid comedy, like some last Disney movies ("Emperor's New Groove", "Home on the Range" etc.). It's VERY BAD they have used "The Lion King" characters for it. Yeah, I know about "Timon & Pumbaa" show - and "The Lion King 1/2" is part of this show. The animation of "The Lion King 1/2" is pretty nice (young/teenager Simba is very cute :)), but the plot... it's horrible. It's stupid. I hoped Walt Disney Pictures will film second sequel, but seems, they haven't any ideas anymore - and they just turned great masterpiece into stupid fart comedy. It's very pity.... And of course, it's not "The Lion King 3" - neither timeline, no plot, no atmosphere...
About the poll. I just don't know... "I do not like it because it is s a comedy", "I do not like it because it is a TLK 1 movie turned into a comedy", "I do not like it because it is a part of TLK"... but "I like it because of something else" (young Simba... :)) Ok, I'll reply "I do not like it because it is a TLK 1 movie turned into a comedy" - here is my answer. I think it's a mostly right for me...

I agreed with person - it's a cheap comedy and certanly is not a part of "The Lion King".

I think "TLK 1 1/2" is one of the worst things Disney ever made. I don't like it because it is a TLK 1 movie turned into a comedy. Also the quality of drawing is **** . But I like some funny moments in it like "dig a tunnah" or young/teenager Simba.

One can only cringe in embarrassment and disgrace as they witness one of the worst parodies of all time. This movie looks like it was written by Weird Al Yankovic, and directed by Mike Meyers.

There are SOME good points in the movie, but the whole thing was a travesty and a waste of most people's time and money.

And to think I bought 2 copies of the DVD.

I do not think it is a bad film or anything of the sort. I do agree though, it was a mistake to try to put it between TLK 1 and 2 because it only tells 1 from a different view. But as a stand alone film, I think it's pretty good. It's....different, so to say.

Elabourating the theme here, Disney was looking to milk the cash cow one last time with a new persepctive on an old idea. They tried creating a parody. They thought it would be interesting. They also wanted to appeal to the younger audience.

Their objective was only partially achieved.

Unfortunately, it turned out to be a dud, but still, Disney tries to push this concept onto people. Us avid TLK fans won't fall for this. We've picked up so much error on it. Still, our emotions for love try to give Disney some credit. We try to tell ourselves, "well, it was good." It wasn't. Face it. Most of the artwork sucked, and Sarafina has proven that. I think Nathan lane and Ernie Sabella were just looking for something to do, along with Whoopi Goldberg, Jim Cummings, and Cheech Marin. Where did it go? Hire some celebrities, create a new plot, and they think they've a winner. Boom, two-star movie that was nearly a waste of effort.

But, TLK fans got what they wanted. We wanted a 3rd sequel. We got that. And we're disappointed.

Kind of the "I don't like doughnuts anymore" theory on the other topic.

I will always have respect for the original Lion King because that was a fresh idea, and it stimulated my mind. I love The Lion King, but the sequels just did not work for me.

The Sonic God, I agree with you about the fact that TLK 1 is most exciting. How are you going to say that you like the other two movies??? They are the same:
TLK1 + Kovu, Kiara, Vitani, Zera = TLK2 - Sarabi
TLK 1,5 = 1/10000000000000 TLK 1

Such old theme... Personally for me this part is good only as a comedy. Some moments really amusing. But that it trite, besides, Timon and Pumbaa in it as round idiots, I cannot seriously perceive it.

I shall agree with Person - in it animation really excellent, actually, extends film of what to look it once again. I reconsidered its two-rub times only because of animation

TLK 3 is a Lion King story told by Timon. (Pumbaa helps... a little.). Don't you see? That explains everything. He lies, he exaggerates, he boasts, he makes typical Timon jokes, he vulgarizes the whole perfomance - he's Timon, and that's how he sees the facts. Just take it and relax
