2 Karis post, my 2 letters xD

Kari is right in some points.
I mean:

German is splittered into a lot of separate parts. In the history of this language, there were three "big language breaking-aparts" - 1050, 1250 I guess, and 1550 or sth.

For example, the people in the North of Germany speak the ancient German today, still. They say "Gib mer an appel" for "give me an apple."
Spoken: Gib mea anappell

And for example, we in upper Austria say: Gib ma an Opfl.
Spoken: Gib maan Opfl.
(If an Englishman can say it so - Sonic, just say the world like the letters are -O-p-f-l. Germany is, like Russian, a language with long parts in words without any a, e, i, o or u.

So there are many dialects, nearly no german-speaking human is speaking correct german. No. It's an ideal form.

Nja. If I speak Italian, for example, I feel like speaking trickly, jokely.
Funny. German is different, but...I'm native speaker, I can't say what it is without being incorrect.

Yeah, german is a very powerful language.
In German you can stretch the words as ya want, hold breaks between the words, shout words...and so on. Play with the rythm and sound of the sentences. English is more "flat".

And, finally: German is much more spoken "as the word is" than French or English.
Francoise is spoken Frosoa.
English is spoken Inglisch.
Deutsch is spoken Deutsch.
;)

Kari: But german is a nice language, I think ^^
But one bad thing about German:
Balladen, Dichtungen, Rhetorik, Lyrik, usw...
Bad...I never can see the distinctive difference, phew...

:drunk

Yes German is nowhere spoken as it is written. But many Germans are writing it correctly. I mean it's not like that the dialect has such an influence on how you write. You don't write as you talk x) Ehm well maybe sometimes in I.net when some Germans meet in chatrooms or forums, then it happens that they write as they speak and then you can forget your translation program ;D
And, finally: German is much more spoken "as the word is" than French or English.
Francoise is spoken Frosoa.
English is spoken Inglisch.
Deutsch is spoken Deutsch.
Wink
Correctly ;)

2 The Sonic God:
Well we are talking about German all the time. How about other languages?
It might be right that German is a quite important language. German is one of the so-called 5 'great European cultural languages' together with Italian, French, Spanish and English, when I'm right Х) Do/did you learn one of these languages as well? Maybe French? That language is very popular :)

Reporting to Karis last post:

If ya write like ya talk, you get F and F and F after F at school...muaha!
In our subject German the most important thing is the grammar and "Rechtschreibung". Correct words.

Sonic, wanna know?
At our school, since beginning of the year, there's an anerican woman from Chicago. Sometimes our teacher Mrs. Ashry brings her to us, then she holds speeches to us. Those are the most important English lessons, oh yeah! Well...this week she was here again, yeah.
She spoke about her time at high school, about some massacres, about the school guards...about what stupid things happened, and so on, hehe.
Very funny! And then we spoke about America and Austria. In America, she said, there you really have to be bad, worse, worst! - if ya wanna get an F. Here you can get a "5" easily - write an F on two of four tests, and you have an F. Easily. So hard to not get it - always having to learn, oh yeah. And here the mentality is completely different...teachers are respected, the pupils respect each other, and so on...not really much violence, at MY school...and so on. Hehe.

Europe is with an other mentality...yesss.

And if all people would write german dialect, the others couldn't read it, just so simple it is 8)

Hm. I only speak German, Englisch and now Italian, well.
I mean - maybe I WILL learn French and Spanish...i wanted to learn Spanish because then I could use it when speaking to Clara.

But the school year was so stressy - but in Italian I'm an A student absolutely!

Io parlo l'italiano molto bene, si, si. Ma non parlo a lungo l'italiano.
Senti: È libero questo posto? Si? Grazie. Servo aiuto per la valigia, per favore. Grazie. E Lei? Lei di dove...?

E Lei é la signora Kari...e Lei é il signor Sonic God...eh ti non amo, ma ti piace...si...

L'italiano e buffo, molto buffo! Piace da parlare l'italiano, e mio professore italiano è buffo, questo professore e grande!

Etc, etc...hehe.

ADORO L'ITALIANO! Adoro!

By the way: In the beginning of the current school year, I didn't want to learn Italian, I just wanted to learn Spanish! *winking clara* Hahehihohu.
Muy bien.
But then I started to like Italian more and more...it's such a lively, relaxed and funny language...I love it! Questa lingua amo!

The Sonic God
I can see the ties between French, Spanish, and Italian. Very interesting.

My Italian sucks... my pronunciation is off like you wouldn't believe. My French is bad, too.

Oddly... I speak Spanish with a mix of German and American accents. I don't have much of an accent when I speak German, but you can still tell that I'm from America. :p I can speak English with an English accent, and people will not know where I am from.

Russian (and other slavic languages) is extremely difficult for me. When words are written (even transliterated) and spoken to me, I will just not understand. My brain won't work as fast as I want it to... and I adore anyone who can read and write two completely different character systems. English and German can share their character systems.

English as you can see I can type clearly. My grammar is pretty decent.

Mein Deutsch ist etwas schlecht, und ich glaube dass ich brauche mehr Praxis. Ich ueben jeden tag, und ich besser bekomme, aber ein bisschen langsam.

My Spanish and French right now are too horrible to type any statements. Same goes for Italian and Russian.

Maybe in some years, Sonic God ;)

In two years, I guess, I bet, italian'll be easily for me...

And: I think I speak English very well. My accent is good, also in fast-spoken italiano.
