"What were I thinking" is grammatically incorrect. This has to deal with the forms of "to be" in the Germanic language of English.

"Who loves Nala not?" should be rephrased as "Who doesn't love Nala?" As Germanic as English is, English requires the presence of the word "do." German rarely uses "do," and therefore the German phrase would be "Wer liebst Nala nicht?" if I am not mistaken. Please correct my German if possible.

German (English words):
Who loves Nala? (positive)
Who loves Nala not? (negative)

English:
Who loves Nala? or Who does love Nala? (positive)
Who doesn't love Nala? (negative)
