joke aside, the first thing i'd look at, it's the tail. If lion's tail lays calm, you can just slowly walk back to a safe place(no running, no turning back). If its swinging, better RUN-FER-JO-LIFE , or pray whatever gods you believe in %) If it's a tamed lion or even domesticated one, i'd try to catch his/her mood and if he looks fine, go on and express the love
