Forgive me...since my knowledge of Russian is severely limited, I don't know how often I will visit this board.

The reason I do visit is because the artwork here is fabulous, and I love it. Maybe I could make a few friends.

I have neighbours who are from Russian that can help me read the text in their spare time, but I don't think that's convenient.

What else to do expect get some help reading it here?

Thanks if you can! :)

That is up to you. If it doesn't bother anyone that I type in English here, I can continue to do so for those who wish to learn English. :)

I'm already in the process of learning German, but I suppose adding a bit of Russian wouldn't hurt. ;)

The only thing I found out that was odd was the и character in your alphabet, whether you still use that or not. (That is the only Russian character I can type, interestingly enough).

Edit: Hmm, odd, it is supposed to be an E with two dots over the top, but the character shows up as a backwards N for some reason (I do not know what that character is.)

Ok, i`ve stopped fooling around, and probably my logins will stop
being deleted by Sarafina %)

Try PROMTs online translator,
it`s a web engine for text\html translation.

You can post a text there, or let it chew some
russian apge, and you`ll get english translated page as an output.

Here you go :)

If it will translate something into shit,
ask me, i think i can help you

Be careful using the word "shit," that has negative connotation and is a form of profanity. Use "garbage" instead.

Well, trying to translate something:

Это - испытание.

When I paste the text, the letters show up as Germanic linguistics, but after I post, hopefully it should show up correctly.

It should say "This is a test."

Sorry :/ :(

Yeah, sounds and reads good! :)

German chars were because your font
didn`t had a russian layout.

Well, it translated word "test" like "challenge".
We have a word "test" in russian,
just written in our letters,
like this: Тест

P.S.
Hint: Try to install russian fonts using your
MS Windows install program.

I do have Russian fonts installed. That's the only reason I can read it.

However, I have to switch between fonts and keyboard layouts before I can type Russian...that takes alot of time.

Every time I type a non-English character on my keyboard here, it will show up as a Russian character after I post it. But if I went to an English board and typed a non-English character, it would show up the way I typed it, because of the Unicode translation.

Russian is on a completely different system than German, English, Norwegian, Spanish, and so on.

I can't use your tip, because I am a Macintosh user. ;)

TSG: E with two points above is pronaunced like 'yo' :)
It's like O with umlaut in german ;)

"Yo" in English sounds different than what you're thinking from the German "OE," but I understand what you're saying.
