See Lion In His Natural Environment (...and about Kenya)
Добавлено: 21 мар 2005, 08:27
I was planing a (long term) trip to Kenya (at June) to see lions in their natural environment. To minimize costs I chosed car and planing to ride through middle east. Thats My chosed way and a bit of information I found about them (sorry if I'm writing bad about Your country).
// My scale of safety
// 0 - HEAVEN
// 1 - relatively safe
// 2 - small troubles
// 3 - troubles
// 4 - big troubles
// 5 - HELL
1. Poland [0 / I think it's one of the safest place on whole trip]
2. Czech Republic [1 / small thefts]
3. Slovakia [0 / maybe lesser heaven because it's not my country]
4. Hungary [1 / many pickpockets]
5. Romania [1 / not so many pickpockets]
6. Bulgaria [2 / don't drive at night, don't stop at unprotected parkings, in cities close doors durring drive, dont left car unprotected]
7. Turkey [3 / if you left car unprotected check if there arn't any drugs, don't buy/get anything written in Kurdish, thuggery in big cities, don't talk with womans, beware of Turk on road (they don't care rules of the road (and in case of car accident you are guilty because you are not from here))]
8. Syria [0 / but keep in mind that there is Iraq not too far]
9. Jordan [1 / small probability of terrorist attack, don't go too close of Israel]
10. Egypt [1 / where are many tourists there are many thiefs]
11. Sudan [4 / big cities are rather safe but on other places there are gangs of thiefs also using south roads by foreigners can be difficult]
12. Kenya [beautyfull sawannas with graceful animals and friendly peoples? NO! Most dangerous places are at North from Mt.Kenya; close to border with somalia tourists are in danger of attack with abduction for ransom maked by armed gangs; ethnic conflicts are frequent in northern part of Kenya close to few national parks and attractive fields in respect touristic; attacks on roads even durring day are most often on northern and eastern provinces of Kenya and on northern coast; at main roads and citiec attacks on cars are usualy at night; use of airline is prescribed at planning of expedition to distant nooks of Kenya or use of escort of armed policeman, especialy at departures to Garrisy and over lake Turkana; and roads are in wery bad condition / 5! ]
After that short presentation of Kenya I'm thinking about taking plane to more peacefull place... but for now don't know where :/
